Local tertiary education center Villa College and the Maldives Association of Human Resource Professionals (MAHRP) have on Monday night signed a research agreement.
The association’s president Hussein Afeef and Villa College’s rector Ahmed Anwar signed the agreement at an event held at Villa College’s QI Campus, named after founder Qasim Ibrahim, in capital city Malé.
Anwar said, speaking at the event, that research conducted in the Maldives often does not research those that use it, and that he hopes this agreement will further encourage the practical application of future research.
Anwar further commended the MAHRP and said that human resources needs a tremendous amount of development as a sector in the Maldivian economy.
MAHRP president Afeef said that applying the knowledge garnered by researches is extremely important in his field and that policies made without regard to research, especially in matters that impact a company or society’s workforce, are often redundant or ‘quick to fail’.
Villa College and MAHRP will, under the agreement, be working together to conduct research in human resources.
