If power outages are not resolved before Ramadan, it will bring immense difficulties: H.Dh council chief
If electricity issues in the atoll are not solved before Ramadan, the islanders will face immense difficulties.
While H.Dh atoll's Quran competition is currently ongoing in Makunudhoo island, the island is experiencing continued power outages
Several corrupt malpractices by both Fenaka and STELCO had recently surfaced, bringing both under heavy criticism

Haa Dhaalu atoll council chief Ahmed Athif has said that many islands in the atoll are experiencing continued power outages and that these issues must be resolved before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

Athif took to twitter on Friday, saying that if electricity issues in the atoll are not resolved at its earliest, the islanders will face immense difficulties.

He further highlighted that, while the atoll's Quran competition is currently ongoing in Makunudhoo island, the island is experiencing continued power outages.

Ever since President Abdulla Yameen came into power, complaints from different parts of the nation have intensified on the administration not being able to improve and provide better electricity utilities, despite it being one of his key pledges in his 2013 presidential campaign.

Electricity to most outlying islands in the nation is provided by Fenaka Corporation, while STELCO provides electricity to capital Male' city and some nearby islands.

Several corrupt malpractices by both Fenaka and STELCO have recently surfaced, bringing both under heavy criticism.
