Former President and opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed has met Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and discussed Maldives' tense political situation and climate change action.
Nasheed revealed this in a post on his Twitter account, where he describes Prime Minister Rasmussen to be a 'close friend', and commends him for his handling of the Copenhagen Summit leadership in 2009, for which he was initially criticized.
Great catching up with my old friend, PM @larsloekke. Discussed Maldives’ political crisis, radicalism, & Indian Ocean stability. Thanked him for his excellent work at COP15 which produced initial agreements by countries to reduce emissions & led to the successful COP21 in Paris. pic.twitter.com/oFnLpjO3o0
