Adam Thaufeeq, deputy minister at the economic ministry, said 24hr stores will be allowed as a convenience to people.

In an exclusive interview to RaajjeMV, said that currently stores are not allowed to remain open after 10pm, but can be allowed to open to receive goods from porters.

He said the opening hours of petrol sheds and restaurants were extended for the convenience of porters working the nightshift, after the transporting of goods in the capital city became restricted to between 6pm and 6am.

The government has said it will allow restaurants to be opened until 1am and petrol sheds until 12am.

“The government always works to give citizens the necessary conveniences. We are working to allow 24hr stores within specific policies.”

While transport of goods has been restricted to between 6pm and 6am, cooking gas deliveries are also allowed between 8:30am to 11:00am.
