Military officers have been deployed into the anti-government demonstration ongoing in capital city Malé.
The Maldives National Defence Force officers has thus far thrown three canisters of tear gas in their attempt to disperse the crowd calling for President Abdulla Yameen's resignation.
The tear gas was used while the police was using pepper spray and force to disperse demonstrators, who have been gathering all over capital city Malé since 9:00 PM on Friday.
