Police have arrested three former officers of the Maldives National Defence Force’s special protection group (SPG).
Simad Ahmed, Ahmed Shaneez, and Ahmed Fattah were all arrested shortly after midnight on Wednesday, and their families have confirmedthis.
Simad, Shaneez, and Fattah were arrested under the Maldives’ ongoing state of emergency.
Shaneez and Simad were arrested on February 23rd as well, but were released shortly after before being relieved from service.
