JP’s spokesperson Ali Solih has confirmed that bodyguard Mohamed Nizam’s phone was confiscated with a court order while he was at a café.

Riyaz was arrested at an anti-government demonstration on March 2. His legal team has said that police still haven’t questioned him.

Since the State of Emergency, numerous officers have been arrested or dismissed. Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer’s bodyguard and former President Mohamed Nasheed’s former bodyguard were dismissed after being kept in jail for more than a week.
