Officers raided the office while a meeting was ongoing


Among the three arrested are members of the party\'s national council
Police have stormed the main opposition party's headquarters in the capital city and arrested three members of its leadership.
Officers raided the party's main office in Heveiru of capital city Malé, on late Thursday morning, and arrested Hassan Mohamed, a member of the party's national council, MP Eva Abdulla's husband Ahmed Shahid, and former member of parliament Ilyas Labeeb.
Senior officials were in a meeting when officers entered the office, the party has informed. They said officers put the said indivdiduals in custody under the authority given to them by the government's contentious state of emergency, ongoing since early February.
