Captain Mohamed Niyaz

Reports have been circulating on social media that Captain Mohamed Niyaz has been arrested.

According to the reports, Captain Niyaz was number one in the engineer bridging command course at the china army engineering academy in 2016.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has not given a public statement regarding his rumored arrest.

A number of military officers are reported to have been arrested following the state of emergency declaration, while others have been dismissed.
