The 63-year-old man has difficulty walking, and his family is confident he did not walk to where he was found alone
The man reported missing in Kaashidhoo island of Kaafu Atoll has been found inside its woodlands.
The island’s residents and police began looking for the man on Tuesday evening, he was found in the eastern side of the island’s woodlands.
Ali Sulthan, the chair of Kaashidhoo’s island council, told RaajjeMV that the man was sitting on grass by himself.
Sulthan said that the incident was reported because the 63-year-old man has had difficulty walking, and they do not believe he can walk the distance between his home and where he was found, by himself.
The reason for the man’s disappearance is yet unknown, and the island’s residents as well authorities have been looking for him since Wednesday’s afternoon.
Police have spoken to the man’s family and are investigating the matter.
