Male’ City council member Azra Moosa has been issued seven days under house arrest.
Azra was kept at island prison Dhoonidhoo after her arrest at the opposition rally on Tuesday night.
Opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) said the Criminal Court transferred her to house arrest on Wednesday night.
Others arrested at the rally have been released.
Police have been arresting protesters at the series of rallies held since the declaration of the State of Emergency, but have released most of them. Some of the released are being repeatedly summoned to police for questioning.
