Former President Mohamed Nasheed has expressed concern over the detention of more than 50 military and police officers.
The opposition leader on Twitter said President Abdulla Yameen’s loyalists were behind the arrests.
Nasheed said some of the detained are being kept isolated in their barracks, while senior Special Operations (SO) police officers are being held in island prison Dhoonidhoo.
Yameen loyalists have detained more than 50 MNDF and Police Officers. Some being detained in their barracks incommunicado; while senior SO police held in Dhoonidhoo. This is worrying. They must be freed.
