The allied opponents of the government have appointed British lawyer Ben Emmerson, also of the Queen’s Council, to represent them.
The parties have agreed to appoint a team of lawyers to represent their interests to the United Nations.
The parties, who collectively refer to themselves at the Joint Opposition, revealed this in a staemenrt on Monday.
The Joint Opposition said Emmerson will be providing advice in their discussions with the government.
The parties have called on the UN Secretary-General to mediate dialogue with the government.
Emmerson is also a former UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Counter-Terrorism.
