MP Ahmed Mahloof’s lawyer has been barred from meeting the parliamentarian, and authorities have given an alternative date.
Lawyer Nazim Sattar, who has been representing those arrested at the nightly demonstrations in capital city Malé, revealed this in a post on his Twitter account.
Atholhuvehi refused to arrange meeting with my clients @AhmedMahloof and @shaheeym for today. So have got slip for tmrw Sunday 11am to meet them

Mahloof was arrested at the demonstration on Wednesday night. He is the spokesperson to the allied parties and appears at the frontlines of said demonstrations.
Nazim Sattar was also representing activist Ibrahim 'Bro' Rasheed Moosa as well and previously said that his client was on a hunger strike before he was released by the Criminal Court.
My client Ibrahim Rasheed Moosa (bro) informed me today in dhoonidhoo that he is in hunger strike for being unlawfully incarcerated

Mahloof himself has described the police’s crackdown on demonstrators as targeted and unnecessarily brutal.
Police had on Friday night arrested MPs Mohamed Ameeth and Ahmed Abdulla as well, although they were released soon after.
