Those gathered at the rally had been calling for the implementation of the Supreme Court's initial ruling on February 1st

A technician with Vmedia, a news outlet owned by opposition leader Qasim Ibrahim, has been arrested while assisting the channel's crew cover a rally. 

Mohamed Riyaz, native to Fuvahmulah of Gnaviyani Atoll, was arrested at the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party's gathering grounds in Heinveiru of capital city Malé.

Police on Wednesday night used brutal force to disband the gathering, having used pepper-spray indiscriminately and arresting parliamentarians that led the rally. 

Those gathered at the rally had been calling for the implementation of the Supreme Court's initial ruling on February 1st.
