Two protesters have been forcefully arrested at a rally on Friday following Supreme Court’s order to release all political prisoners.
Moosa Ali Manik, the President of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s Mauvvari Constituency was one of those arrested.
Opposition members rallied on Friday evening at MDP’s campaign hall near the Artificial Beach, after President Abdulla Yameen’s government began resisting the court order.
Police officers used force to disperse the crowd and arrested two. Footage showed officers tearing off one man’s shirt before hurling him into the vehicle.
