Criminal Court schedules hearing in Yameen Rasheed
The defendants are Ismail Haisham Rasheed, Hussain Ziyad, Ismail Rasheed, Hassan Shifaz, Mohamed Dhifran and Ahmed Zihan

The Criminal Court has scheduled a hearing for the allegations put forth six suspects incriminated in the murder of writer and blogger Yameen Rasheed.
The hearing has been scheduled for 3:00 pm on Monday, and the pre-trial proceedings for the case were held in secret.
The six defendants are facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and subsequently of first-degree murder. The charges were officially put forth on 31st July.
The defendants are Ismail Haisham Rasheed, Hussain Ziyad, Ismail Rasheed, Hassan Shifaz, Mohamed Dhifran and Ahmed Zihan. An additional suspect has also reportedly been charged with accessory to murder.
Yameen was murdered in the stairwell of his home on the early hours of April 23rd, 2017. Video footage publicized by the police show the assailants waiting inside his home and another on the road, possibly acting as a scout.
He was pronounced dead less than half an hour after the attack, and his body had reportedly sustained over 35 stab wounds, most of which had been to his chest.
