Vice President of the Mundoo island council has been arrested over allegations of battery, against a woman.
He was arrested with an additional suspect, over an assault that took place in Mundoo island of Laamu Atoll on Sunday.
Police media officer confirmed that two individuals have been arrested over an assault in Mundoo, under a court order, without disclosing their identities.
RaajjeMV understands that arrested are Mundoo council vice president Adam Nasif and a 19-year-old.
The victim of this assault suffered injuries to the head, and had to be taken to the Gan Regional Hospital for treatment.
According to RaajjeMV’s sources in Mundoo, Nasif’s wife was seen in a heated debate with the said woman outside the island’s magistrate court, prior to the assault. The woman is said to have continued the argument with Nasif.
Furthermore, RaajjeMV understands that the council had filed a complaint against the said woman, for entering the entering the council offices, and ‘creating havoc’ in there.
