Housing Minister Dr Mohamed Muizzu has been receiving a torrent of criticism following flooding in Male’ after rainfall.
Videos posted on social media showed that Maafannu district was the most affected by flooding due to the rain in early Wednesday morning.
Kanba Aisa Rani Hingun and the region around the area has been the most affected, while even the recently renovated Majeedhee Magu was shown to be flooded.
Locals have been aiming criticisms at Housing Minister Dr Mohamed Muizzu and President Abdulla Yameen for the government’s short-term fixes to the city’s problems and their costly emphasis on implementing the plan for the “greater Male’” area.
Last night, Met Service issued a yellow alert on 11 atolls in the central region, which was revoked at 8:15am.
