A Bangladeshi man who was burnt in Sh Funadhoo on Thursday is now in stable condition, says the atoll hospital.

Funadhoo Hospital Manager Hassan Ismail told RajjeMV that the victim had attempted to light an oven during a gas leak.

Mr Ismail cited doctors as saying 44 percent of his body was burnt, including his neck, hands, and feet.

The man is currently bandaged and recovering, he said.
