The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has been investigating lawmaker Mohamed ‘Muhammaa’ Abdulla’s purchase of a home in capital city Malé.

RaajjeMV understands that the Ihavandhoo constituency representative has been summoned to the commission for question several times.

The ACC is investigating how MP Abdulla acquired the funds to pay off a down payment of the MVR 900,000 for the property.

An official from the ACC said that the investigation has been concluded but had not clarified if they are pursuing any charges.

The ACC further said that it would reveal details of this case along with others in this year’s last quarter.

MP Abdulla, who recently defected from the ruling party and sided with the opposition, has also been implicated in another case – one that reportedly involves him transferring a large sum of money to his account from another through an ATM.
