The Maldives National Defence Force will on Thursday its military training alongside Indian forces, which was carried out in Belgaum of Karnataka State.

The 14-day exercise aims to familiarize units from both armies with operating procedures and counter-insurgency and anti-terrorism tactics in urban and semi-urban spaces.

The military exercise is part of the ‘Ekuverin’ set, which have been held for eight years, and have helped foster relations between India and the Maldives.

Officers who are participating in the exercise will also witness cultural events, notably a presentation of India’s ‘Gatka’ dance.
