A motorcycle has on Thursday crashed into a ditch at the North Harbour in capital city Malé.

The motorcycle had been carrying a passenger when into fell into the four-foot ditch, dug to bury drainage and construction pipes.

The accident occurred at around 9:15 am, although circumstances surrounding it are yet unclear. However, the police have confirmed that it was reported to them.

The motorcycle’s female rider and male passenger had both fell into the ditch, and sustained several injuries. The extent of which are also yet unclear.
