Statues have been removed from Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, following condemnation.

Photos of the statues shared on social media were heavily criticized.

Police, without confirming the resort, said the statues had been removed before they could investigate.

The marble statues were faced on either side of the dock’s walkway.

The resort was reportedly decorated for Christmas. Items such as idols for worship are illegal in Maldives.
