Muaz resigns, issues apology to movie sector co-workers

Youth Ministry Coordinator and head of National Center for the Arts (NCA) Abdullah Muaz has resigned.
Muaz, who had worked in the movie industry before, tendered in his resignation on Sunday and penned a post on his Facebook account in Dhivehi, briefing on his reasons for resignation.
In his Facebook post, Muaz said that he was unable to do anything for the movie industry, in his position as coordinator. He added that actions will have consequences and all must face them.
His resignation came at a time when public criticism had poured out over the nominations for the recently held Film Awards. Some had claimed that nominations were judged unfairly.
