Mahloof called on Malaysian government to release ex-deputy PM
MP Mahloof meets Malaysia’s opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail
South-Galolhu MP Ahmed Mahloof has met with Malaysia’s opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The opposition MP shared photos of the meeting in a tweet on Thursday.
In the tweet, Mahloof called on the Malaysian government to respect the ruling of the United Nation’s Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and release Dr Azizah’s husband and Former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
During his ongoing trip to Malaysia, Mahloof had also met with Former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed.
Meanwhile, President Abdulla Yameen has invited Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife to Maldives, and the government has announced that they are to arrive on December 19.
