Maldives Blood Services stops providing treatments still in research
The Maldives Blood Services said that they only provide treatments certified by the TIF
Therefore any treatment for which research is yet ongoing will not be provided from December 10th, onwards
The MBS called on all patients to undergo only certified treatment in order to maintain their health and avoid anything that maybe detrimental to their well being

The Maldivian Blood Services has seized providing any treatment still in its research stages, the state-operated institution has said.

The MBS, which operates the Central Blood Bank and the Thalassemia and other Haemoglobinopathies Center, said that treatments that require more clinical research or are still in their infancy will not be provided from December 10th onwards.

A statement from the MBS said that all its treatments are endorsed by the Thalassemia International Federation, and that it does not encourage any patient to seek experimental treatments or ones for which research is yet ongoing.

The MBS called on all patients to undergo only certified treatment in order to maintain their health and avoid anything that maybe detrimental to their wellbeing.
