MDP condemns 'obstruction' of human rights and justice
The statement called on authorities to ensure all Maldivians receive the rights guaranteed to them by the constitution
The statement also reflected on the status of minorities in the country
The party’s statement said that one of the biggest obstructions to human rights in the country remain the government and state institutions

The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has called on all state authorities to ensure that the Maldivian people are given the rights they are entitled to.

In a statement marking the international Human Rights Day on Sunday, the party said that there are those that transgress and act out of legal ambit to obstruct people’s freedoms.
