Supreme Court of the Maldives has thrown out the appeal case filed by Adhaalath Party Leader Sheikh Imran Abdullah.

The case was filed citing that High Court had reviewed the terror charges on Imran against legal procedures.

The appeal was thrown out after five months since it was filed back in June 15th.

Supreme Court had ruled that the High Court had ruled in accordance with procedure and there were no legal grounds to overturn the verdict issued. Therefore, the Supreme Court had ruled not to review the case any further.

Sheikh Imran was jailed following the 2015 May Day protests. The state had raised terror charges which was proven on him.
