The Maldivian government has condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Egypt’s North Sinai province.
The Foreign Ministry conveyed the government’s ‘deepest condolences’ for the bombing, which killed over 230 people.
The bombing had reportedly been carried out by militants, though no known groups have claimed the attack.
However, the Islamic State (IS) has been responsible for a recent chain of similar attacks in the region.
President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has said that Egyptian forces will respond with brute force.
