Island Aviation Service (IAS) has stated crew of the seaplane had acted as per procedures when the seaplane crashed.

IAS defended their crew stating they had acted as per procedures and had attempted to control the situation after the crash. IAS added their Accident Investigation Coordination Committee was already investigating the case and that IAS fully cooperated with the investigation.

English passengers onboard reported to foreign media sources that pilot and crew had prioritized on reaching land rather than helping passengers after the seaplane crashed. The life jackets given to them were small and out of date, they added.

The sea plane had crashed at around 9.40 am on 15th of this month. At the time 15 were on board. No injuries were reported. This is the third such incident in the past six months.
