An expatriate man asleep on a vessel docked in Vaavu Atoll has been stabbed in the head.

The man had been taken to the Vaavu Atoll Hospital in Felidhoo island, and he has been released.

The doctor that treated him said that the force of the attack had been skeletally sustained and that no organs had been severely damaged.

Police said that the incident was reported to them on Sunday, and that no arrests have been made thus far.
