Hearings of the murder charges raised against three individuals in connection to the murder of Nadheem 'Nadey' Abdul Raheem (23) is to begin on Wednesday.

The hearings are scheduled for 10 am on Wednesday.

Mohamed Mafaz Hussain Saleem (19), Ali Nifaz (24) and Hussain Shamin (24) have all been charged on murder. First degree murder charges had been raised on one individual, while second degree murder charges were raised against the rest.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) said the attack on Nadheem was one "in a series of gang violence across the city".

24-year-old Nadheem was stabbed in the head by a group of masked assailants on July 27, and died two days later while receiving treatment.
