A 23-year-old Bangladeshi man has been arrested with three plastic bags containing illicit drugs.

The Maldives Police Services arrested the man in a joint operation with its department on enforcing drug laws, after their intelligence received a tip.

Officers had arrested the man in capital city Malé. They removed the plastic bags from a larger one he had on his person.

The 23-year-old is currently in police custody.
