Proceeds from telethon handed over to MRC
Maldives Red Crescent (MRC) says that MVR 3.7 million out of the MVR 5.16 million amassed in the ‘Maldives with Rohingya’ telethon conducted by RaajjeTV, had been handed over to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
RaajjeTV Head of Marketing Aiminath Reesha reported that MRC was yet to transfer MVR 1.3 million which will be converted to US dollars and transferred.
The telethon was carried out for 30 hours from 2.42pm onwards on September 10th. RaajjeTV management said that this was the most successful one carried out by a private media in the given amount of time.
MHPA was the auditor for the entire telethon.
Even though the telethon was run by RaajjeTV the proceeds were handed over on behalf of Maldivians.
