The woman injured in the fire that occurred after a washing machine exploded, has passed away.
Hawwa Manike Ibrahim (54) had passed away while receiving treatment for serious burns sustained in the accident. She was being treated at India’s Amrita Hospital.
Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) had previously stated the she was making progress prior to transfer to India for further treatment.
RaajjeMV understands that her condition had deteriorated after her wounds got infected and infection had progressed to internal organs.
She was injured on September 15th.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the fire was caused by an electrical shortage.
