The administrative offices run by the Magistrate Court in Fiyoari island of Gaafu Dhaal Atoll have been robbed.

Shuzam Solih, the chair of the island’s local government council, said that the robbers had entered having shattered a window and stolen a safe.

The robbery was reported to the police by the court’s staff, who signed in at work on Tuesday morning.

The Maldives Police Service said that the incident was reported to them at about 8:00 am and that their officers are in Fiyoari, investigating the matter.

Fiyoari has seen a series of similar safe robberies in the past two months, where robbers had broken into the island’s health center and the council office itself.
