STO raises prices of diesel and petrol
It hiked the price of diesel by MVR 0.53 per liter and petrol by MVR 0.57 per liter

The State Trading Organization (STO) has raised the price at which it sells diesel and petrol.
STO, the state’s primary wholesale and retail arm, raised the prices by over half-a-rufiyaa, effective Monday.
It hiked the price of diesel by MVR 0.53 per liter and petrol by MVR 0.57 per liter. Therefore, while petrol prices cost MVR 8.95 a liter before, it now costs MVR 9.52 and diesel costs MVR 9.17 a liter.
A statement from the company said that the price hike is due to a rise in fuel prices in the international market.
