Commissioner of Police Abdullah Nawaz has been transferred to Laamu atoll to man the Southern Operations Command.

RaajjeMV understands the transfer came into effect earlier this month and can confirm Nawaz is stationed in Gan island in Laamu Atoll.

He had also met the officers stationed in Laamu Atoll and queried on the issues they had faced.

Police operations carried out in Meemu, Faafu, Dhaal, Laamu, Thaa, Gaaf Alif, Gaaf Dhaal Atolls, Addu City and Fuvahmulah City fall under Southern Operations Command.

Nawaz had served as a head of Police Communications Center and prior to that he had served in Crime Investigations Command head. This change came in May this year.

No statement had been released regarding the change.

He was promoted to Assistant Commission from Chief Superintendent on June 29,2015.
