The information about recipients of housing units under the Housing Ministry’s shelter program through a tentative list last week is not conclusive, Minister Mohamed Muizzu has said.

At a press conference on Monday, the minister said the marks shown to have been allocated by the Housing Ministry in the list is only tentative and subject to change.

The ministry was met with criticism from several people on the list for discrepancies in it. They had put forth issue with the fact that the Housing Ministry had not publicized the names of recipients, and instead had included the code assigned to their applications.

Minister Muizzu addressed this and said that the ministry had opted not to publicize the names of recipients in order to maintain their privacy.

In addition to this, several recipients had taken to social networking outlets concerned over how a number of the same codes had been repeated on the list.

The ministry had publicized recipients of housing units in four atolls.

The list includes recipients in Gahdhoo and Hoadeddhoo of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll, Dhidhoo in Haa Alifu atoll, and Villingili in Gaafu Alifu atoll.
