It has been revealed that the father of Ahmed Mahloof, the Youth Minister during the administration of now main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has been deceptively added to the main ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Mahloof revealed that his father and a sibling have been deceptively added to the main ruling party.
Mahloof’s post goes on to read that it is a very irresponsible act plotted by a group of individuals. He added that they were increasing their member count in a very unusual way.
It has come to light that a large number of people have been deceptively registered as a member at PNC by misusing personal information, forging signatures, and providing false evidence. Several people have been expressing their dissatisfaction with this on social media.
Mahloof also noted that when the party president called for reaching 100,000 members, those who secretly added citizens to PNC by misusing confidential information should be thoroughly investigated and held accountable.
While numerous cases have surfaced of many MDP registered members being secretly transferred to PNC, these include a current parliament member affiliated with MDP, some former lawmakers, and members of the party's national congress.
