Pres. says gov’t resolves to remain dedicated to serving the people with sincerity, day and night this new year

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government's resolve for the new year is to remain dedicated to serving the people with sincerity, “day and night”.

In his address on the occasion of the new Gregorian year, President Muizzu said that the Maldivian state today, is a state that is journeying towards specific goals. He said it is to achieve certain objectives and with the aim of defending and ensuring the country's independence and the national identity of Maldives. The president said that the goal of ensuring housing for every Maldivian citizen and the goal of developing healthcare and basic public services to modern standards will be achieved.

Further, he said it is a clear roadmap drawn to migrate to the ranks of developed nations along with the urban development brought to different parts of the country, constitutional reforms, the diversely expanded economy, and all these matters together. He said this is the goal of the Maldives' development journey today.

The president said that a new year is always an opportunity to set resolutions. He said that new year's resolutions can be set at the national level, community level, and individual level, and that the government's resolution is to remain dedicated day and night in serving the people with sincerity, fulfilling promises, maintaining trust, always being closest to the people, and finding permanent solutions to issues.

The president went on to note that 2025 will be a year of prosperity. He said it will be a year of practical work on projects, a year of everyone uniting to journey towards one goal in national progress. The president also highlighted that it will be a year of building the nation responsibly for the future of Maldivians.
