The second batch of the Marriot International Maldives Apprenticeship Program has been inaugurated.
Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef inaugurated the second batch of the program on Wednesday.
The program is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts' National Apprenticeship Program.
Carried out nationwide, the National Apprenticeship Program is an initiative that allows individuals to learn, develop and gain employment experience under the mentorship of industry professionals.
As part of the program, the first batch was trained and is currently in employment.
Adhering to the standards set by the Maldives National Skills Development Authority, the program aims to pave the path for youth to get access to nationally-recognized training in multiple fields of skilled labor.
The National Apprenticeship Program revolves around six primary areas including tourism, transportation, construction, social sector, fisheries and agriculture, and information and communications technology.
VP Latheef presented letters to 25 participants enrolled in the second batch of the National Apprenticeship Program at Wednesday’s ceremony.
The program currently has a total of 60 participants.
