Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office Heena Waleed has revealed that the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) was an immense success.

She said this while speaking to press at the President’s Office on Wednesday.

Speaking to journalists at Wednesday’s press conference, Heena revealed that the fourth SIDS conference held in Antigua and Barbuda was an immense success.

Highlighting that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu addressed multiple topics of significance to the Maldivian people at the fourth SIDS conference, Heena noted that the president also supported efforts to mitigate climate change and the challenges encountered by SIDS.

Further, she noted that the Maldivian leader sat down for talks with several Heads of State and leaders of countries, on the sidelines of the SIDS conference.

President Muizzu departed to Antigua and Barbuda to participate in the conference, on May 24.

The fourth SIDS conference was held from May 27 – 30.
