President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Asia Human Resources Development (HRD) Awards 2017; an award that is conferred on those who nominate themselves.

The award was accepted by Mohamed Fahmy Hassan, Ambassador of the Maldives to Malaysia.

Speaking via video message, President Yameen said the Award is an acknowledgement of collective success and that the milestones achieved in recent years should be attributed to the Maldivian spirit and to the many sacrifices made to attain a better future.

He said the award was for the Maldivians.

Asia HRD website says that the Asia HRD Awards is a celebration and recognition of virtuosos who contribute to people development - whether it is to the human resource profession, an organization, the community or society at large.
