White alert issued for heavy rain, thunderstorms

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The white alert is part of a series of alerts, both white and yellow, being issued across the Maldives over the past couple of days as adverse weather conditions continue to prevail across the Maldives.

The department issued the white alert from Haa Alif atoll to Vaavu atoll.

The alert was issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms, expected to prevail across the region.

The white alert will be effective through 8pm, Sunday.
