President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has wrapped up his brief tour of Faafu atoll.
President Muizzu departed on the tour of some islands in Faafu atoll, from Velana International Airport (VIA) on Saturday.
He concluded his trip and returned to the capital, Malé City on Sunday afternoon.
The visit saw the president visiting several Faafu atoll islands, sitting down for discussions with island councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) as well as island residents.
He also held a meeting with the Faafu Atoll Council.
These discussions saw the president addressing the development needs of the islands, mainly inquiring on the most pressing needs of the residents.
So far, President Muizzu has met 168 councils across the Maldives throughout a series of visits initiated this year.
Muizzu aims to visit each inhabited island spanning the country at least twice, over the course of his five-year presidential term.
