Discussions have been held regarding the most crucial development needs of Laamu atoll.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with members of Laamu Atoll Council as part of his tour of several islands in Laamu atoll which he began on Thursday morning.

During the meeting held in Fonadhoo island’s social center, councilors shed light on ways to improve the quality of health services, transportation services as well as the education system in the atoll.

President Muizzu was also briefed on the issues facing fishermen when weighing their catch.

They also shed light on their plans for the progress of tourism in the atoll.

Discussions also revolved around strategies to tackle multiple issues and challenges facing islands in the atoll.

The members of his cabinet accompanying him on the tour provided updates on the ongoing initiatives by the administration aiming to address the issues raised by the councilors.

President Muizzu assured the councilors that their recommendations would be considered, and that the government would seek ways to pursue them.
