Raa Atoll Council members have shared the crucial socio-economic development needs of the atoll, with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
This was done during a meeting the president held with members of Raa Atoll Council on Sunday.
Speaking at the meeting, the president stressed the need to implement development projects in the atoll with the aim of decreasing expenses of residents and improving their quality of life.
The meeting saw the council members shedding light on the commencement of RTL ferry services in the atoll, the expansion of services at Ifuru Domestic Airport as well as the necessity of developing an airport in the southern part of the atoll.
Discussions also revolved around enhancing services at Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital as well as challenges related to the availability of medicines.
Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.
