Development needs of Nolhivaram island in Haa Dhaal atoll, have been shared with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

This was done during a meeting the president held with members of the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) earlier this week

The meeting saw discussions revolving around the need to carry out a harbor expansion project on the island, initiate single-session schooling, upgrade the health center into a hospital, implement proper waste management and the provision of water and electricity service coverage to agricultural fields.

Councilors went on to express the need to develop sports facilities for the island’s youth community.

They also urged the government to introduce ATM services in the island.

Further, they urged the government to resume the development projects that have been halted in the island.

The meeting also saw the island’s WDC members briefing the president on challenges they face in their work.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured them that he would work with relevant authorities to seek agreeable solutions to tackle the issues facing the island community.
